Bucharest, April 5, 2022 | the CCIR Palace with the special participation of DEFENCE UNLIMITED ( www.defenceunlimited.com) and THE EUROPEAN INSTITUTE FOR MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH – THE CENTER FOR LOBBY AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS ( https://roresearch.ro/centru/relatii-internationale-si-lobby/ )
The Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) and the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Romania, in partnership with Enterprise Estonia, organized on Tuesday, April 5, the Romania-Estonia Business Forum, on the occasion of the official visit to Romania of the Estonian Foreign Minister Mrs. Eva-Maria Liimets.
An excellent opportunity for business communities in both countries to establish new business relationships and thus boost bilateral trade. As is well known, Estonia is a flagship country in terms of cybersecurity innovation. At the same time, it offers real development opportunities for startups, cloud services as well as for other entities in the digital sphere. At the same time, Romania is recognized worldwide for its IT&C specialists. The forum was a good opportunity for the Romanian economy to leave the last place in digitalization, which it currently occupies. Certainly, this is just one example in which the Romanian and Estonian business environments can develop joint projects, but there are many other sectors for bilateral partnership. Romania invite our Estonian partners to approach the sectors of activity in Romania with more courage. The forum organized by CCIR is a perfect opportunity to develop new economic relations.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Mrs. Eva-Maria Liimets stated: „First of all, I would like to congratulate CCIR for organizing this event, which we have been planning for a long time. It is particularly important to strengthen cooperation between our states, both politically and economically, especially in the context of the current armed conflict in Ukraine. Obviously, there is a potential for increased trade between the two states in various economic sectors, such as: fintech, defense industry, cyber security, IT & C and more. All these economic sectors have one thing in common: digitalization. We believe that digitalisation is the future and that is why we focus much of our economic activity on this. The Romania-Estonia Business Forum is the perfect opportunity for entrepreneurs from both countries to get to know each other better and, at the same time, to expand their business, investing in the technologies of the future. „
According to ONRC data, the total value of Romania-Estonia trade was 140.34 million euros, at the end of 2021. At the level of March 2022, a number of 73 Estonian companies were active in Romania, with a total value of share capital subscribed for over 1.18 million euros.
